Angelo Sarno is the founding and managing partner of the law firm of Snyder Sarno D'Aniello Maceri da Costa LLC. He is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a matrimonial attorney. Mr. Sarno has been named to the New Jersey Super Lawyers every year since its inception in 2005. In 2009, he was selected by his peers to be featured in the New Jersey Super Lawyers 100 Top list of matrimonial lawyers. Mr. Sarno was also selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© in the field of Family Law each year since 2014 (Copyright 2013 by Woodward/White, Inc., of Aiken, SC).
Mr. Sarno is a distinguished family law attorney, representing clients in various complex matrimonial cases throughout New Jersey. In 2014, Mr. Sarno received national recognition for his involvement in representing the parents in the matter Rachel Canning vs. Sean and Elizabeth Canning, a case which involved a lawsuit between a daughter and her parents. In addition, on September 25, 2014, Mr. Sarno’s successful arguments before the State Supreme Court in Maeker v. Ross established legal precedent for the matrimonial law community. The unanimous Supreme Court, agreeing with Mr. Sarno’s arguments, ruled that oral palimony agreements entered into prior to the New Jersey Legislature’s amendment to the Statute of Frauds remain enforceable. In addition, Mr. Sarno co-authored a book titled New Jersey Family Law Forms for the New Jersey Law Journal.
In addition to his accomplishments and accolades, Mr. Sarno is an active member of the community. He is admitted to the New Jersey State Bar and United States District Court for the state of New Jersey. Mr. Sarno is a member of the NJ State Bar, Morris, Somerset, and Essex County Bar Associations, Board on Attorney Certification and Matrimonial Certification Committee, Essex County Bar Association Due Diligence Committee and sits on the Essex County Bar Association Family Law Executive Committee.
Mr. Sarno volunteers time to the Morris County Battered Women Legal Advocacy Program, where he represents victims of domestic abuse. He has lectured and presented seminars for the American Academy of Matrimonial Attorneys, New Jersey Association for Justice (formerly ATLA – NJ Educational Foundation) and New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education. Mr. Sarno has also taught the Family Law Paralegal Program course at Fairleigh Dickinson University. He has also provided legal commentary with a panel of experts on the O.J. Simpson custody case for the NJ8 News with Lynn Doyle. He earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, from Seton Hall University and his J.D. Degree from Seton Hall University School of Law.
